Refrigerator repair built for North Vancouver homes

Refrigerator calls from North Vancouver come in two shapes. Along Lonsdale, Marine Drive and Harbourside they are counter-depth and integrated fridges in newer strata kitchens, often European brands with cabinet panels. In Lynn Valley, Edgemont, Upper Lonsdale, Deep Cove and Seymour they are full-size family fridges in detached homes, plus the garage or basement fridge that has been running for twenty years. Edellin prioritises fridge calls, diagnoses on site and quotes before any repair.

From an integrated fridge behind Lonsdale millwork to a chest freezer in a Deep Cove basement, we provide:

Local Expertise

Priority scheduling. A warm fridge is moved to the front of the North Shore route.

Accessibility

Panel-ready and built-in units removed and reinstalled correctly, level and with the cabinet panel refitted.

Reliability

Parts checked before the bridge. With a model number we know whether the part is on the van or has to be ordered, and we book the return visit before leaving.

Other appliances we repair in North Vancouver

North Vancouver homes and buildings

Lower and Central Lonsdale, Moodyville, Marine Drive and Harbourside have newer strata kitchens with Blomberg, Bosch, Miele, Thermador and Samsung counter-depth and integrated fridges. Access is by elevator and the units are boxed in by millwork, so we plan the pull and bring a second technician when the model calls for it. Lynn Valley, Edgemont, Upper Lonsdale, Pemberton Heights, Deep Cove, Blueridge and Seymour are detached homes with full-size fridges in the kitchen and, very often, a second fridge or chest freezer in the garage or basement. Those secondary units live in cold, damp spaces, and thermostat, relay and gasket failures are the usual result. A fixed quote, original parts, and a straight answer on repair versus replacement for older fridges.

Refrigerator problems we fix in North Vancouver, and your questions

Defrost heater, defrost thermostat or control board failure icing up the evaporator, or a dead evaporator fan. The most common North Vancouver fridge call.

Start relay, condenser fan, blocked or dirty condenser, or compressor trouble. We test before quoting, and tell you if the compressor is the problem.

Thermostats and thermistors misread cold garage air and stop the compressor. Common in Edgemont and Lynn Valley garages from November on.

Blocked defrost drain, cracked pan, or an inlet valve or ice maker line on French-door and side-by-side units.

Inlet valve, frozen fill line, ice maker module, filter housing or a freezer that is running warm.

Fan bearings, a relay, dirty coils or worn door gaskets. Gaskets are often the answer on fridges that have done fifteen years of family use.

Usually the same day. Fridge calls go to the front of our North Shore route, and the drive from Burnaby is 20 to 35 minutes over the Ironworkers bridge.

Yes. Garage and basement fridges are repaired on the same visit as your kitchen appliances if you book them together, and cold-weather thermostat faults are a repair we see all winter.

Yes. We remove the cabinet panel, service the unit in place or on its rails, and refit it level. Tell us the brand and model when you book.

Yes. Fan, defrost, gasket, relay and drain repairs are usually worth it at any age; a refrigerant leak or failed compressor on an older unit usually is not, and we tell you before any work starts.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The technician that came to check on my broken freezer, Ilya, was very knowledgeable, experienced, and professional, and I would definitely return to this company if I have future appliance issues. Through the initial consultation over the phone, it was immediately clear that Ilya was very knowledgeable and experienced based on the questions he asked and what he was able to deduce just based on the information provided him. He was able to come check my fridge on the day of on very short notice, and spent much time dismantling my fridge to get a proper diagnose of the underlying issue (not just the problem at face value), whereas the company I previously reached out to before switching to Edellin had only looked at the fridge for a few minutes and gave a very vague diagnosis. The previous company (appliance repair expert, they are scammers, do not use their services) never contacted me after I paid the home visit fee, even though they said they would send someone to repair my fridge later, and was unresponsive when I called or emailed. On the other hand, Ilya was very honest with me that fixing my fridge was possible but not worth it, as the fridge was quite old and the repairs and part replacements would cost more than half the cost of getting a new fridge of the same model. He also provided a contact to an appliance company that would be able to give me a discount for a new fridge. I really appreciated Ilya efforts and honestly, and would definitely recommend others to use Edellin’s services for their experience and professionalism.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My fridge had officially filed for retirement. The last repair company poked around, charged me $300+ just for existing.
Desperate, so I called Edellin Home Services. Ilya didn’t rush me, didn’t act like my complaining was a burden, just listened and calmly said he’d be there in two hours. I almost cried.
Then he showed up on time, toolbox looking like it belonged to a fridge wizard. He popped the door open, took one look, and instantly spotted why the defrost mode had gone on permanent vacation. The man moved like he’d been fixing fridges since the invention of ice cubes. Two hours later my fridge was back from the dead, purring like a happy cat.
No sneaky credit-card surcharge. No “surprise” extras. Just a very reasonable price and a working fridge. I can finally cook real meals for my family again. They looked at me with actual pride instead of pity. Honestly, I felt like a kitchen hero.
His service is straight-up priceless. If your appliances are acting up, give Ilya a call. You will not regret it. My fridge lives, my family eats, and I’m still smiling. Absolute legend. 5 star all the way to the moon and back!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Our fridge died months ago and I was lucky to have found Ilya. He came out quickly, diagnosed the problem and explained what was going on. Ilya is extremely professional and hard working. His charge was very reasonable for both parts and labour. I will hire him for any repairs in the future. Months later, our older fridge is still going strong. Thanks Ilya!
