Dryer repair built for North Vancouver homes

North Vancouver dryer calls split down Lonsdale. In the towers along Marine Drive and Lower Lonsdale we service compact stacked units and ventless dryers behind closet doors. In Lynn Valley, Edgemont, Upper Lonsdale, Deep Cove and Seymour we are mostly working on full-size dryers that came with the house, some of them 15 to 25 years old, with vent runs that climb through a basement and out a sloped lot. Edellin repairs both kinds with original parts and a quote before any work starts.

From a condenser dryer behind a Lower Lonsdale closet door to an original full-size machine down an Edgemont basement stair, we provide:

Local Expertise

A visit planned for the house. We ask about exterior stairs, basement access, parking and gates so the technician arrives with what the job needs.

Accessibility

Parts for older models. We carry the common elements, fuses, rollers and belts for the Whirlpool, Kenmore, Maytag, GE and Amana dryers still running across the North Shore.

Reliability

A fixed quote first, and honesty about replacement. On a 20-year-old dryer we tell you when the part is not worth it.

North Vancouver homes and buildings

Lower and Central Lonsdale, Marine Drive and Harbourside are new towers and townhomes with compact stacked laundry, mostly Blomberg, Bosch, Whirlpool and LG 24-inch units, some of them ventless. Access means elevators, closets and tight hallways, and we bring a second technician when the machine has to come out. Lynn Valley, Edgemont, Upper Lonsdale, Pemberton Heights, Deep Cove, Blueridge and Seymour are older detached homes on sloped lots. Full-size dryers are often original to a renovation done 15 to 25 years ago, vent runs are long and sometimes flexible foil, and laundry rooms are reached by exterior or basement stairs. That is where most no-heat and long-cycle calls come from. Strata coordination in Lonsdale towers. Elevator bookings and insurance documents are handled with your building manager.

Dryer problems we fix in North Vancouver, and your questions

On 15-to-25-year-old machines in Lynn Valley and Edgemont it is usually a vent run full of lint, a worn cycling thermostat, or a moisture sensor coated in fabric softener. We clear and test before replacing parts.

Thermal fuse, heating element or high-limit thermostat on electric dryers; igniter or gas valve coils on gas units. Both are common in the older detached homes.

Condenser and heat-pump dryers shut down when the condensate pump or float switch fails or the condenser clogs. Cleaning and a pump replacement fix most of them.

Lint on the element, a seized motor or a blocked exhaust. Stop using the dryer and book; long vent runs on sloped lots are the usual cause.

Drum rollers, belt, idler pulley or bearing, especially on machines that have run daily for two decades.

Door switch, motor, thermal fuse or a wiring fault. Older panels and 30-amp circuits are checked as part of the diagnostic.

Often yes. Older full-size dryers are mechanically simple and parts are still available; a new element or set of rollers costs a fraction of a new machine. We quote first so you can decide with the number in front of you.

Yes. Tell us about the driveway, exterior stairs and parking when you book so we plan the visit; icy access is normal for us from November to March.

Yes. Most repairs are done in the suite. If the unit has to leave the closet we coordinate the elevator window with your building manager and carry the insurance documents strata councils ask for.

Usually 20 to 35 minutes over the Ironworkers Memorial Bridge. We schedule North Shore calls together so travel does not push your appointment back, and most dryer calls are same-day or next-day.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The technician that came to check on my broken freezer, Ilya, was very knowledgeable, experienced, and professional, and I would definitely return to this company if I have future appliance issues. Through the initial consultation over the phone, it was immediately clear that Ilya was very knowledgeable and experienced based on the questions he asked and what he was able to deduce just based on the information provided him. He was able to come check my fridge on the day of on very short notice, and spent much time dismantling my fridge to get a proper diagnose of the underlying issue (not just the problem at face value), whereas the company I previously reached out to before switching to Edellin had only looked at the fridge for a few minutes and gave a very vague diagnosis. The previous company (appliance repair expert, they are scammers, do not use their services) never contacted me after I paid the home visit fee, even though they said they would send someone to repair my fridge later, and was unresponsive when I called or emailed. On the other hand, Ilya was very honest with me that fixing my fridge was possible but not worth it, as the fridge was quite old and the repairs and part replacements would cost more than half the cost of getting a new fridge of the same model. He also provided a contact to an appliance company that would be able to give me a discount for a new fridge. I really appreciated Ilya efforts and honestly, and would definitely recommend others to use Edellin’s services for their experience and professionalism.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My fridge had officially filed for retirement. The last repair company poked around, charged me $300+ just for existing.
Desperate, so I called Edellin Home Services. Ilya didn’t rush me, didn’t act like my complaining was a burden, just listened and calmly said he’d be there in two hours. I almost cried.
Then he showed up on time, toolbox looking like it belonged to a fridge wizard. He popped the door open, took one look, and instantly spotted why the defrost mode had gone on permanent vacation. The man moved like he’d been fixing fridges since the invention of ice cubes. Two hours later my fridge was back from the dead, purring like a happy cat.
No sneaky credit-card surcharge. No “surprise” extras. Just a very reasonable price and a working fridge. I can finally cook real meals for my family again. They looked at me with actual pride instead of pity. Honestly, I felt like a kitchen hero.
His service is straight-up priceless. If your appliances are acting up, give Ilya a call. You will not regret it. My fridge lives, my family eats, and I’m still smiling. Absolute legend. 5 star all the way to the moon and back!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Our fridge died months ago and I was lucky to have found Ilya. He came out quickly, diagnosed the problem and explained what was going on. Ilya is extremely professional and hard working. His charge was very reasonable for both parts and labour. I will hire him for any repairs in the future. Months later, our older fridge is still going strong. Thanks Ilya!
